Skuylkill River Trail

Philadelphia, PA | 2012

UC Studios plans trails and riverfronts as connected public systems that improve everyday mobility, recreation, environmental performance, and community access to nature. We integrate pedestrian and bicycle networks with public space, low-impact development, stormwater management, and site design to create resilient landscapes that are functional, engaging, and built to endure.

For the Schuylkill River Trail initiative, UC Studios developed a planning framework that expanded pedestrian and bicycle access, strengthened neighborhood and waterfront connections, and supported recreation along the riverfront. The work paired safer routes and improved river access with runoff reduction, low-impact development, and environmentally responsible site design—establishing a resilient foundation for public investment, community use, and long-term riverfront revitalization.
