James serves as Director of Architecture at UC Studios, providing architectural leadership across adaptive reuse, historic rehabilitation, institutional planning, and complex redevelopment projects.
He helps guide projects from early concept and feasibility through design development, technical coordination, and implementation, ensuring that architectural quality is aligned with building performance, accessibility, sustainability, and long-term asset stewardship.
His role is particularly valuable on projects where existing buildings must be repositioned for new uses while preserving their architectural character and meeting contemporary operational and energy-performance standards.
James is an accomplished architect with more than 15 years of experience in architectural design, project coordination, institutional planning, and multidisciplinary project delivery. In addition to his role with UC Studios, he serves as Campus Architect at Eastern Connecticut State University, where he brings a systems-level understanding of complex building programs, campus infrastructure, capital improvements, and long-term facility stewardship. His career includes positions with BD Design Group and Silver/Petrucelli + Associates, where he led projects through all phases of design and construction, including concept development, construction documentation, consultant coordination, and MEP integration. His approach combines technical rigor, responsiveness, and clear communication with a strong commitment to design quality and practical implementation. James also brings particular expertise to adaptive reuse and heritage-sensitive renovation, where contemporary performance requirements must be balanced with the integrity of existing buildings.
We invite you to work together to turn your vision into a resilient place of lasting value.
